On the 3rd July 2020 The government introduced the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2)(England) Regulations 2020. This piece of legislation includes the revocation of Section 5 of The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions)(England) Regulations 2020, which had been amended by the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions)(England)(Amendment)Regulations 2020.
Therefore, the requirements, including that crematoria are closed apart for funerals, no longer apply from the 4th July 2020. However, the sector is still awaiting fresh guidance from Public Health England and until such times the requirements concerning social distancing and limiting the number of mourners remain in place.
